Welcome to the National Social Marketing Centre's (NSMC) Social Marketing Summer School Website. The NSMC is recognised internationally as a world leader in social marketing theory and practice.

The NSMC ran its second Social Marketing Summer School for managers, policy makers and practitioners in Bled, Slovenia, from 07-11 June, 2010.

The 5-day course provided an introduction to the basic principles of social marketing. The interactive workshop helped participants to learn about best practice in social marketing from the health, environment and development sectors and to develop the practical skills needed to design, implement and evaluate effective behavour change programmes.

Real case studies were used to look at the overall process of developing a social marketing intervention from start to finish including: development of project brief; generating resources; stakeholder engagement; developing the plan; implementation; monitoring and evaluation.

At the end of the week, delegates returned to their respective organisations, better able to apply social marketing insights and planning to their projects.
